Wednesday 18.07.07

Another cold night and still quite cold til lunch time then it cleared into another clear blue skied day.

We went for a walk into the town stopping at Mitre 10 on the way. After walking around the store looking for a hose fitting I approached a lady working in the garden section to ask directions. It was Paula McEvoy (ex Minnipa), she and Bruce have been here for nearly two years. Whilst we were talking Bruce and their son and two granddaughters arrived. We arranged to have a meal with them on Friday evening. Bruce is working with the excavators and works 2 weeks on 1 week off.

Called into Andrews’s office and then had cup of coffee in the theatre complex and read the paper. We said all along that we would be able to just stop whenever we wanted, but didn’t expect it so soon.

Jackie from Hertz rang to say the car was ready so we met her and then took her back to the office at the airport near the mine. Called into the Toyota office to find the box has been sent to NorthPoint MN Nth East Rd this morning. Should arrive tonight and manager rang to say it was on its way and asked for it to be high priority as he would be in Adelaide and be able to bring it back after his weekend home. Chap in Adelaide gave some expletives which were duly returned, so I am confident that this end is fully aware of the situation. So maybe a Tuesday recommencement. As we had the hire car we were able to get some things from the Prado to make life a little more comfortable back at the van, not that it wasn’t anyway.

Later in the day I went to the library and attempted to send emails from the wireless connection there. Although I could gain a wireless connection and was able to receive incoming email I could not send out. I think it may be something to do with my account now being a “dial up’ and not a broadband so will need to check with AAPT.
